Bible – Sanford and Jane Higginbotham

This bible was burned during the War Between the States when a Union Soldier threw it into the fire on Sanford’s Plantation, in Fordyce Arkansas.  Sanford’s Head Slave, pulled it out of the fire, to save it for the family.

    Thank you so much for the information you have collected. I am a descendant of Mary Jane Willis Bloodworth, daughter of Paul Willis and Matilda Higgenbotham. Mary Jane was married to James Bloodworth, father of my great grandfather, Pinkney Oliver Bloodworth.
